Greetings,
My name is Simoun Urcia and I am currently a student at City College of New York. I am pursuing a B.S in Psychology and and a minor in Biology. My goal is to become a Physician Assistant in the future. I have a big passion for the sciences, helping other people, and continuously trying to expand my knowledge.
Since I love learning and expanding my knowledge, this semester was a perfect opportunity to do just so. I learned the impact of language and it’s role in society. Understanding the role of language is an aspect of life that is many times overlooked. However, each phase of this class taught me how important it is; especially in a diverse nation like America. I know that understanding the effects of language will definitely come handful when I work in the medical field one day. In the medical field, I will be interacting with a diverse amount of people everyday and it’s always good to be open minded about their culture and language.
